Test Your Setup Before Going Live

A program you’ve just set up is easier to fix before a real customer buys. A test shows you which collaborator a sale credits, what the reward comes to, and where it shows up in Siren Cloud. If a rate is wrong or a collaborator has no referral link yet, you find out while nothing is at stake.

Siren Cloud gives you two ways to test without paying anyone. A test sale runs a made-up sale through your programs, and it needs no store. Stripe test mode checks your Stripe webhook and tracking with Stripe’s test payments.

Send a test sale

The “Try a test sale” card on your dashboard records a sale as if a shopper came through a collaborator’s referral link. Your programs credit it the way they credit a real sale. Admins and Platform Managers can send test sales and delete them.

The card then says “Test sale recorded and credited.” when a program awarded a conversion, or “Test sale recorded.” when the sale was kept and nothing was awarded, with a line about what came of it. “View the transaction” opens the sale, and “View the conversion” opens its conversion when it earned one.

Siren Cloud refuses a test sale for a collaborator who has no referral link yet or isn’t active, and while the engine is paused for your usage. It says why and records nothing.

What a test sale touches

The transaction, its conversions, and its rewards carry a “Test” badge under Track > Transactions, Track > Conversions, and Reward > Obligations. A test reward is held with the note “This reward comes from a test sale, so it is never paid.” Payouts, balances, and earnings leave it out.

A test sale doesn’t count toward your usage or your reports. It sends no email to collaborators or your team, and no event to your webhooks.

Delete test sales

Once you have a test sale, the card shows a “Delete 1 test sale” button, or “Delete 3 test sales” for three. Click it, then click “Delete test data” to confirm. Siren Cloud deletes every test sale and the conversions, rewards, visits, and notes they made, and leaves real sales alone.

Try Stripe payments in test mode

A test sale shows how your programs credit a sale. It doesn’t check that your store reaches Siren Cloud. For Stripe, connect test mode on the Stripe setup screen, with its own webhook URL and signing secret, as Test mode describes. Then pay with Stripe’s test card through a referral link.

Each test payment shows in the “Recent test events” card on the Stripe setup screen, with what it would do and the collaborator a live sale would credit. Test payments never create sales, commissions, payouts, or reports. Live and test mode can be connected at the same time, so you can leave test mode connected when you go live.

Shopify test orders count as real sales. After a Shopify test order, reject its conversion, as Connect Shopify describes.
