Connect a WordPress Site
Connect a WordPress store to Siren Cloud with the Siren Cloud Connector plugin, so its visits, sales, and refunds count in your organization.
Siren Cloud

The Siren Cloud Connector is a WordPress plugin that connects a WordPress site to your Siren Cloud organization. Once it’s connected, the site sends its referral visits, sales, refunds, renewals, leads, coupon uses, and customers to Siren Cloud, and you run your programs, collaborators, and payouts there. On the store itself, Siren’s features for shoppers keep working, such as coupon fields, store credit at checkout, and the collaborator portal. The store’s coupon panel and Siren Cloud’s Coupon codes screen change the same record, so a code linked in either place shows in both. The same goes for the store’s “Product owners” boxes and Siren Cloud’s Products screen, as Assign Product Owners describes. Store credit spends only in currencies bound to the site’s Property. The site’s Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data tools work on the records in Siren Cloud, as Customer Data Requests on Siren Cloud describes.
The connector moves the site onto Siren Cloud and takes over from the Siren plugin. Once the site has switched over, it doesn’t go back to running Siren on WordPress. A site with no Siren plugin and no Siren data connects and starts working. A site that already runs Siren moves its data during connection, and the “Move to Siren Cloud” card in the site’s Connection settings shows each step. Move a WordPress Site to Siren Cloud covers that move.
What you need
- A WordPress site Siren Cloud can reach over the internet, with its REST API available.
- PHP 8.2 or newer on the site.
- An Admin of your Siren Cloud organization, to download the connector and approve the site.
The connector works with the store plugins Siren supports: WooCommerce (with WooCommerce Subscriptions), Easy Digital Downloads (with Recurring Payments), North Commerce, LifterLMS, LearnDash, Gravity Forms, and Ninja Forms.
Choose the Property first
The site joins the Property whose Site URL is exactly the site’s own address, and if none matches, Siren Cloud creates a Property for it. Siren Cloud picks the Property by that address, not by asking you.
- To connect the site to a Property you already have, set that Property’s Site URL first, in “Edit Property”, to the site’s address with the same scheme, host, and port, and no path or trailing slash. For example,
https://shop.example.com, nothttps://shop.example.com/orhttps://www.shop.example.com. - Otherwise, let the site create its own Property when it connects.
After the site connects, leave that Site URL as it is. Changing it makes the site start a new Property.
Connect the site
Get the connector
In Siren Cloud, open the Property, click "Add integration", then "WordPress". In the "Connect WordPress" dialog, click "Get the connector", then "Download the connector". The download link works for a few minutes. You can also find "Get the connector" on any WordPress plugin's card under Settings > Integrations.
Install it in WordPress
In your WordPress admin, open Plugins, click "Add New Plugin", then "Upload Plugin", choose the zip file, and activate it.
Open Siren > Connection settings and click "Connect to Siren Cloud"
Sign in to Siren Cloud
The approval screen connects the site to the organization you have open, so switch to the right one first.
Approve the site
Siren Cloud shows "Connect a site" and what the site will be allowed to do. An Admin clicks "Connect to" and the organization's name.
Before the site connects, the Siren menu in WordPress holds only “Connection settings”. WordPress then shows “Connected to Siren Cloud.”, and the menu holds “Siren”, “Go to dashboard”, which opens Siren Cloud, and “Connection settings”, which is for checking the connection.
The connector isn’t in the WordPress.org plugin directory. Updates appear on the WordPress Plugins screen like any other plugin’s, while the site is connected.
Check the connection
In Siren Cloud, the Property’s “WordPress site” card shows the connection, for Admins:
- “Last event received”, the last time the site sent something.
- “Forwarding”, whether the site reports that it’s sending.
- “Webhook” and its last delivery, for what Siren Cloud sends back to the site.
- “Migration”, which reads “Open until” a date or “Closed”, for moving the site’s Siren data.
A site that has switched over shows “Runs only on Siren Cloud”.
In WordPress, Connection settings shows whether Siren Cloud can reach the site, with “Check again”, and the events waiting to be sent. The site keeps the events it sends in an outbox and retries until Siren Cloud takes them. Use “Send again” or “Send all again” to retry now.
On a quiet site, WordPress runs its scheduled tasks only when someone visits, so events can wait. Running WordPress cron from your server every minute keeps them moving.
Disconnect the site
“Disconnect” on the WordPress site card revokes the site’s access and pauses what Siren Cloud sends it. The Property and its history stay. A site that has switched over to Siren Cloud records no referral visits, sales, or leads until someone reconnects it from Connection settings in its WordPress admin, so disconnect only when you mean to stop tracking that site.
The window for moving a site’s Siren data to Siren Cloud stays open for 30 days after the site is approved, and closes when the move finishes. While it’s closed, “Allow migration again” reopens it for 30 days.
While your organization has no active plan, the card still shows, but “Disconnect” and “Allow migration again” wait for a plan.
