Customer Data Requests on Siren Cloud

Export or erase what Siren Cloud keeps about a shopper from the Customer data tab, and handle requests that reach a connected WordPress site.

Siren Cloud

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Siren Cloud answers a shopper’s data request from the “Customer data” tab under Settings > Import & Export. Admins can use it, on any active plan. What Siren exports, erases, and keeps is the same as on WordPress, as Answer a Customer’s Data Request describes. You decide what a request needs under your own privacy policy.

Export or erase a customer’s data

1

Open the account menu and choose Settings > Import & Export, then the "Customer data" tab

2

Choose how to find the customer

Under "Find the customer by", pick "Email address", which searches every store, or a WordPress user ID on a connected site, a Stripe or Shopify customer ID, or a Siren activity record. For a WordPress user, Stripe, or Shopify ID, also choose the "Store".

3

Click "Download export" or "Erase customer data"

The export downloads as a JSON file, or the tab says "Siren holds nothing for this customer." Erasing asks you to confirm, then you click "Erase".

After an erasure, the tab says how many records were removed or cleared and how many were kept, and how many collaborators are no longer linked to the customer. “Siren holds nothing for this customer.” means it found nothing to erase. A collaborator who is still owed money isn’t erased, and the tab shows the reason, as When the person is also a collaborator explains. If it shows “Not every record could be erased. Run the erasure again to finish it.”, run it again.

Siren Cloud’s export also holds a collaborator’s application answers. Erasing also clears the shopper from held Stripe and Shopify orders and from events waiting to be replayed. For a collaborator, it clears their application answers and unlinks their Siren Cloud sign-in, removing the account when it has no seat anywhere else. Their login with the sign-in provider stays.

With no active plan, the tab is locked.

Requests on a connected WordPress site

On a WordPress site connected to Siren Cloud, Tools > Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data send the request to Siren Cloud, once the site reads its records from Siren Cloud, as every site that has switched over does. The site names the customer only by their WordPress account, so it misses a guest checkout and a collaborator’s own record, even when the same person has an account. For a guest, WordPress may report “Siren holds nothing it can find by this email address.”, and for someone with an account it may report the erasure done while other records stay in Siren Cloud. So run every request by email here as well.

If the request can’t go through, the site’s erase tool says “Siren Cloud could not be reached, so this customer’s Siren records were not processed. Try again in a moment.” or “Siren Cloud refused this request. Check that this site is still connected, then try again.” An export file holds the same message as a note instead of the records.

On a connected site, the suggested privacy policy text says Siren Cloud stores the records for you.
