Questions, answered

Is Siren a WordPress plugin or a hosted platform?

Both, depending on the edition. The WordPress edition is a plugin you install on your own site and run yourself. Cloud Self-Serve and Full-Service are fully hosted by Siren, with nothing to install or maintain. It's one platform with three ways to run it, and the same engine powers all of them.

Do I need a WordPress site to use Siren?

Only for the WordPress edition, which runs as a plugin on your site. Cloud Self-Serve and Full-Service are fully hosted, so you can run your whole program with no WordPress anywhere in your stack.

How do I know which edition is right for me?

Start with where you want Siren to run. If you live in WordPress or WooCommerce, the WordPress edition installs right on your site, and that's usually the whole decision. Cloud Self-Serve exists for teams running programs across multiple channels who have no appetite for managing infrastructure. And when you need a dedicated setup built around your own comp model and systems, that's Full-Service: guided and done-with-you.

What's the difference between Cloud Self-Serve and Full-Service?

Same hosted engine, different level of hands-on. Self-Serve is exactly that. You sign up, you're running in minutes, and you run your own programs on tiered subscriptions. Full-Service is for custom implementations: we scope your comp model, connect it to the systems you already use, and set the whole thing up with you. It lives inside the Cloud edition as the managed option.

Do all three editions use the same engine?

Yes. The opportunity → engagement → conversion → payout pipeline is identical underneath. What changes is where it runs, who maintains it, and how much we set up for you. Pick the edition that fits your situation today. You're not choosing a different product, just a different place to run it.

Can I run affiliate, referral, royalty, and loyalty programs on any edition?

Yes. All four program shapes run on the same engine, so they work the same way whether you're on WordPress, Cloud Self-Serve, or Full-Service. The edition changes where Siren runs and what it connects to, not which kinds of programs you can build.

Can I run programs across more than one sales channel?

Yes. The WordPress edition tracks every channel your WordPress site handles, including WooCommerce, LifterLMS, LearnDash, and Easy Digital Downloads. Cloud Self-Serve and Full-Service go further, using webhooks to connect Shopify, Stripe, your CRM, and custom apps, so conversions attribute across every channel at once. Every edition also exposes a REST API.

Which edition do I need to sell on Shopify or outside WordPress?

Cloud Self-Serve or Full-Service. The WordPress edition tracks the channels your WordPress site runs, like WooCommerce and your LMS. To attribute sales from Shopify, Stripe, or any other non-WordPress channel, you want a hosted edition, which connects them with webhooks.

Which edition can I use right now?

The WordPress edition is available today, free to install with paid tiers when you need them. Cloud Self-Serve is opening through founding access, where the first 100 accounts lock in 50% off for life, so you join the waitlist to claim a spot. Full-Service starts whenever you book a scoping call.

What's the cheapest way to run Siren?

Siren Lite, the free tier of the WordPress edition. It runs a real affiliate program on your own site at no cost, with unlimited programs and partners, and you can upgrade to a paid tier or move to a hosted edition whenever you outgrow it.

Is there a free trial?

Depends on the edition. On WordPress, the free affiliate plugin is the trial, and you can run it forever. Cloud Self-Serve gives you 30 days free at the Plus tier, no card required. Full-Service doesn't really do trials. It starts with a scoping call instead.

Can I move between editions later?

Moving up is the easy direction. Going from WordPress to Cloud is a one-click move, and your programs, collaborators, referral links, and payout history all come with you, so your partners keep the links they already have. Coming back down from Cloud to WordPress works through export rather than automatically, and it won't be quite as complete, because some Cloud capabilities don't exist in the WordPress edition. Either way your data is yours, so you're never locked in.

Can I export my data and leave?

Yes. Your data is yours on every edition. On the WordPress edition it lives in your own database, and the hosted editions give you export, so you can take your programs, partners, and payout history with you whenever you want.

Does Siren take a cut of what I pay out?

Never, on any edition. You pay a flat WordPress license or a hosted subscription, and every dollar you pay your partners is yours to keep. Siren doesn't take a percentage of your payouts or your revenue.

How do payouts work across the editions?

The same way on all three editions. Siren tracks, attributes, and calculates what every partner has earned, and you approve it. From there it hands those totals to the tools you already use to pay people, which today means approving payouts and exporting them for your own payment runs. By design Siren isn't a payments or tax service, so moving the money and handling things like 1099s stay in the systems you already run, and we never take a cut of what you pay out.
