Lifetime Commissions
Link a customer to a collaborator so the collaborator earns on the customer's later purchases with no new click or coupon, by hand or automatically when a sale is approved.
Requires Siren Plus
WordPress plugin and Siren Cloud

With lifetime commissions, a collaborator keeps earning from the customers they bring in. You link a customer to a collaborator, and the collaborator earns from that customer’s later purchases, with no referral click or coupon needed. Linking customers needs Siren Plus or Pro.
A link on its own pays nothing. The collaborator earns through a program that tracks the Opportunity Bound To Collaborator trigger, and only while they’re active and enrolled in it.
Set up a program that pays linked collaborators
- Create a program, or open one, as Create a Program describes.
- In the “Engagement Tracking Events” card, tick “Opportunity Bound To Collaborator”. Keep the events that credit a customer’s first sale, such as “Site Visited” and “Coupon Code Used”, so the program pays that sale and can link the customer.
- Choose the incentive, such as 10% of every later purchase.
- To link customers for you, turn on “Bind collaborator to opportunity on approval” in the “Post-Conversion Actions” card, as described below. Otherwise you link customers by hand.
- Enroll the collaborators who should earn, and make sure they’re active.
- Test it. Place an order as a test shopper signed in to a store account, so their later orders carry the link. Link that customer to a collaborator, place a second order signed in as the same shopper, and check that a conversion appears for the collaborator.
The program that links customers and the program that pays them can be the same program or two different ones. Collaborators earn only in the one they’re enrolled in. With the linking action on, approve the first order’s conversion, and the customer’s page then shows the winning collaborator under “Linked collaborators”.
Link a customer by hand
Open the customer under Siren > Customers, and in the “Linked collaborators” card click “Link to collaborator”, or “Link another” when someone is linked already. Pick one or more collaborators and click “Link”. A customer can be linked to several collaborators.
On WordPress, you can also link from the customer’s user profile. Its “Siren Collaborators” section has an “Assigned Collaborators” field, which anyone who can edit users can change.
On Siren Cloud, the Customers screen is Track > Customers.Link customers automatically
A program’s “Post-Conversion Actions” card can run “Bind collaborator to opportunity on approval”. Every time a conversion in that program is approved, Siren links the winning collaborator to that customer. It runs on every approval, not only the first purchase, so a customer who buys through three collaborators in that program ends up linked to all three.
How a linked customer’s purchases are credited
On each sale, every collaborator linked to the customer gets an engagement in each program they’re enrolled in that tracks the trigger. The program then decides who earns, the same way it does for clicks and coupons. A link doesn’t override a newer referral by rule. A click or coupon from another collaborator adds its own engagement, and the program structure picks among them.
The link carries over to the customer’s visits that exist when you link them. On WordPress, a shopper who signs in to their account carries the link on every purchase, because signing in joins their visit to the account’s own.
A subscription’s renewals pay whoever earned its first sale. A link made later covers the customer’s new purchases, not the renewals, as Who a renewal pays explains.
To keep a program that pays for new customers from crediting customers someone already brought in, tick “Skip Already-Attributed Customers” in that program’s “Customer Filters” card. It stops every new engagement on a linked customer, so leave it off in the program that pays lifetime credit.
On Siren Cloud, a Stripe or Shopify order that arrives without a referral is matched to a returning customer by the store’s customer ID. A program that pays linked collaborators pays again on that order, and a program whose engagement already turned into a sale pays nothing more.Unlink or change a link
- On the customer’s page, click “Unlink” beside the collaborator and confirm. Rewards already earned stay.
- On the collaborator’s page, the “Lifetime Attribution” card lists who is linked to them. “Remove” asks first, and can also “Reject unpaid obligations from this customer”, which rejects that collaborator’s unpaid rewards from the customer, both those awaiting approval and those approved. Paid rewards stay, and the rejection can’t be undone.
- On the WordPress user profile, remove a collaborator from “Assigned Collaborators”. Siren lists any unpaid rewards traced to that link and can reject them when you save.
Merging customers keeps only the links you choose, and splitting an identity off leaves the new customer unlinked, as Customers describes. Erasing a customer’s data unlinks them too.
What collaborators see
A linked collaborator’s portal says how many customers are linked to them, such as “3 customers credit you on every purchase.”, with no names. The count includes every link, whether or not a program pays for it.
Plans
On WordPress, Siren Plus and Pro include lifetime links, the linking action, the trigger, and the “Skip Already-Attributed Customers” filter. Linking and unlinking both need Plus or Pro. On Siren Essentials, a customer’s page shows “The Plus plan includes lifetime customer links.” with “Upgrade to Plus” in place of the link and unlink buttons. Siren Lite shows no link controls.
If your site moves from Plus or Pro to Essentials or Lite, its links stay but stop crediting, and they credit again when the site returns to Plus or Pro. Merging and splitting customers still change links on every plan.
On Siren Cloud, every plan keeps customers, and linking needs the Plus or Pro plan. If your organization moves below Plus, existing links keep crediting through programs that track the trigger, and the “Lifetime Attribution” card shows the notice in place of “Remove”. New links wait until you’re on Plus again. A program that already runs the linking action keeps it, but it links no one new, and a program can’t turn it on.
