Siren

Release 3.5.0

Automatic payouts through Stripe Connect Express and PayPal, store credit coupons, and payout setup from the method picker. Paid editions received 3.5 as version 3.5.5.

Last updated: August 31, 2026

Siren 3.5 pays collaborators automatically. Approved payouts run through the payout method you set for each currency, with Stripe Connect Express and PayPal Payouts on Plus and Pro and store credit on Essentials. It also adds store credit coupons and flags recipes that need a higher plan before you start them.

The paid editions received all of 3.5 as version 3.5.5 on August 31, 2026, which is the only 3.5 build. Versions 3.5.0 through 3.5.4 mark the work below but were never built for download. WordPress.org didn’t receive 3.5, so Siren Lite users there went from 3.4.2 to 3.6.256, which carries the 3.5 fixes that apply to Lite.

Automatic Payouts (Essentials, Plus and Pro)

Approved payouts can run through the payout method assigned to their currency, with no manual export. Essentials includes automatic payouts and store credit as a payout method. Plus and Pro add two payment providers.

  • Stripe Connect Express (Plus and Pro): collaborators connect their own Stripe account and receive payouts there directly
  • PayPal Payouts (Plus and Pro): pays each collaborator’s PayPal account
  • Setup from the method picker (Plus and Pro): Stripe and PayPal appear in the payout method picker. A provider that still needs credentials sits under “Needs setup” and opens its settings in place.
  • A payout method needs saved credentials before you can assign it to a currency
  • PayPal payouts in currencies with no decimal units, such as JPY, HUF and TWD, are refused with a message instead of being rounded
  • Saving PayPal credentials keeps the live or sandbox environment you chose

To set it up, see set up automatic payouts. For what collaborators see, see how collaborators get paid automatically. Developers can find the payout method configuration in the autofulfillers reference.

Store Credit Coupons (Essentials)

Issue store credit to collaborators per currency. The credit applies automatically at checkout on WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads and LifterLMS. See store credit and custom currencies and the credits reference.

Recipes and Plans

  • A recipe that needs a paid plan is flagged before the setup wizard starts, with the plan named and an upgrade link
  • Applying a recipe that includes collaborator groups on Essentials says that collaborator groups need Plus or Pro
  • Pricing and upgrade screens list what Siren Plus and Siren Pro include

See working with recipes and upgrading to Plus and Pro.

Improvements

  • Sale transactions record each line’s quantity. See what are transactions.
  • The “Send Signup Email” bulk action reports how many emails went out, and says so when none could be sent. See sign-up emails.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed WooCommerce sales missing part of the order when WooCommerce saved the order items after the order itself. Siren records the full order, so commissions are credited correctly.
  • Fixed an error in completed North Commerce checkouts that rolled back the payment record, leaving the card charged and the order unpaid.
  • Essentials and up: Fixed distribution pools counting each sale’s revenue twice. See what are distributors.
  • Fixed list screens showing stale values right after you edited a record.

For Developers

  • Approving a conversion through PUT /conversions/{id} moves its obligation forward so it pays out, the same as the bulk approve action.
  • A payout that fails to send gets a Failed status, and POST /payouts/{id}/retry retries that same payout.
  • GET /distributions/{id} returns the distribution instead of a 500 error.
  • Pro: refund events match their sale when the external ID isn’t a number.
  • Bulk hard deletes report the correct number of affected records.
