How Collaborators Get Paid Automatically

How collaborators connect a Stripe account or add a PayPal email on their portal's Profile page, so automatic payouts reach them, and how they follow each payment.

Requires Siren Plus

WordPress plugin and Siren Cloud

When a store pays a currency through Stripe or PayPal, as Set Up Automatic Payouts describes, Siren sends each payout to the collaborator’s own Stripe account or PayPal email. Each collaborator sets that up once, on the Profile page of their portal. The cards appear only for the methods the store’s plan includes.

Connect Stripe

The “Payouts” card on the Profile page connects a Stripe account.

1

Click "Connect Stripe"

Siren sends you to Stripe, which asks for your details and where to deposit the money. Stripe keeps those details. The store never sees them.

2

Finish Stripe's steps

Stripe sends you back to the Profile page when you're done.

3

Check the card

It reads "Your Stripe account is connected and ready to receive payouts."

If you leave before Stripe’s steps are done, the card reads “Your Stripe setup is incomplete. Finish onboarding to receive payouts.” Click “Continue Stripe setup” to pick up where you stopped.

If the card says “This organization does not pay out through Stripe yet”, there’s nothing to connect.

Add a PayPal email

The “PayPal payouts” card holds the PayPal email where your payouts go. Click “Add PayPal email”, type it in “PayPal email”, and click “Save”. To use another address later, click “Change PayPal email”. If the card says the organization doesn’t pay out through PayPal yet, you can still add your email so it’s ready.

The store’s admins can also set a collaborator’s PayPal email from the collaborator’s page in the admin, and see there whether their Stripe account is connected and ready.

Follow your payments

Open Earnings and choose the “Payments” tab. Each payment reads “Not paid yet” (including while it’s being sent or waiting for your setup), “Paid”, or “Failed”.

If the store has a payout ready for you before you’ve connected Stripe or added a PayPal email, the payout waits for you. Your dashboard shows how much is waiting, with a “Set up payouts” button that opens the cards on your Profile page. Once you finish, the payout is sent on its own. On Siren Cloud, the store can also email you when a payout starts waiting, and once more a week later.

The tab doesn’t show why a payment failed. First check your Profile page: a payment fails when you started connecting Stripe and didn’t finish. If that’s done, ask the store, which sees the reason.

On a WordPress store connected to Siren Cloud, collaborators connect Stripe and set their PayPal email in the Siren Cloud portal, and the store’s portal shows the PayPal email read only.
