Connect Beacon to ChatGPT

If you just want a quick way to use Beacon with ChatGPT, the Siren Affiliates Beacon custom GPT works immediately with no setup. The MCP integration below is for users who want the full programmatic connection.

ChatGPT supports MCP servers through its developer mode feature. This is available to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts.

Enable Developer Mode

Open ChatGPT and go to Settings

Navigate to Apps

Click Advanced settings

Toggle Developer mode to on

Create a Beacon App

Click Create app next to the Advanced settings heading

Fill in the app details

Name: Beacon. Description: Siren partnership program design assistant. URL: https://beacon.sirenaffiliates.com/beacon/v1/mcp. Authentication: No Authentication.

Click Create

Verify Beacon's tools appear

You should see beacon_search_knowledge, beacon_fetch_knowledge, and beacon_create_recipe listed. If not, click Refresh to sync.

Use Beacon in a Conversation

Start a new chat in ChatGPT

Click the + button in the message composer and select More

Choose Developer mode

Select Beacon from the available apps

Start chatting

You can prompt ChatGPT to use Beacon directly, for example: "Use Beacon to search for tiered affiliate program recipes"

ChatGPT will ask you to confirm tool calls before executing them. You can review the details of each call and approve or deny it.
