Next up, let’s talk about affiliate coupons and how to create a coupon code and associate it with a collaborator and then also make sure that that collaborator is able to earn a commission whenever their coupon code is used. Let’s get into it. So, first off, we’re going to go into our programs and we’re going to make sure we have a program that is actually using a coupon code engagement type. So, this should apply to both our affiliate program and our instructor affiliate program in in this in this context. So here we have the coupon code use is set and so a is site visited. Good to go there. Let’s go ahead and check our instruction instructor one. That’s good. And I think I actually just checked the same one twice. Yes. Okay, we’re good. So both instructor affiliate program and affiliate programs are both using coupon codes. So uh with Lifter LMS, we can add coupon codes through orders coupons. And then we’re going to click add new coupon. And here we can add a title. So maybe this is Steve’s coupon, right? We can set a discount or something like that. So maybe we’ll set a 10% discount. And we’ll set restrictions. We don’t need to set any restrictions or anything like that. And maybe we’ll just set the code to Steve or doing well. We’ll do that. That sounds fun. Doing well because his last name is Wellington. There we go. 10% discount. And we will assign it to Steve. Oh, wait. No, Brad Wellington. So, maybe chilling out. Yeah, chilling out. Steven Winner. Ice cold, baby. Okay. So, assigned a collaborator, Steven Wy. We’re going to click publish. So, this is now associated with Steven Winner. So, now if we go back to our program, I’m going to show you an interesting little detail here. Um, we’re actually going to do a customer journey real quick where we use Brad’s um affiliate link, but we use Stephen Steve’s coupon code so you can see kind of how that always the coupon code tends to win because it’s the last thing that happens in a transaction. So, we’re going to go ahead and open a new private window. We’re going to go to collaborators and we’re going to grab Brad’s tracking ID which is well and we’re going to go to an affiliate use that his affiliate link to visit the site as a test visitor. Now one other thing I want to mention here um this program this the way we have the program set up here is we have two affiliate programs but we also have an instructor royalty program. So Brad is going to receive a commission no matter what because the only course that we have that we’re selling right now is actually is Brad uh is made by Brad. Brad is the instructor on this course. Therefore, he will get a royalty whenever this course is sold. Okay, just wanted to make sure that was clear. So we’re going to go ahead and go to LMSCourse.local, set the ref to well for Brad Wellington. Go to our course catalog and we’re going to buy this course and scroll down. So if anybody uh purchases this product right now as it is, Brad would get credit for both the sale and his royalty. But in this case, we are going to use that coupon code we created here for Brad. So chilling out, coupon code chilling out at checkout. So we can see that there’s an opportunity to enter the coupon code. I’m going to go ahead and apply that here. And you can see it applies the discount. I’m going to go ahead and fill out the rest of this form and then click the order. And you’ll see that what’s going to happen is even though Brad we used um Brad’s affiliate link, we use Steve’s coupon code which happened after visiting the site with Brad’s affiliate link. So it’s it’s going to be where the credit is applied instead of Brad’s instead of Yes, Brad’s. Okay, hold on. Okay, I filled out all the information. We have the payment details set to manual so that we’re able to test this easily. And if you were running this site on a live site, you’re probably going to be using an actual payment processor, but it would work pretty much the same way. We just have one extra step that we have to do to make it work. So, we’re going to click buy now. The order is complete. We’re going to go ahead and close this. And if we go to siren conversions, we’re going to see two new conversions of hit for transaction 8. If I click on transaction 8, you’re going to see transaction total and that there’s no obligations for this yet. Um, and the reason why there’s no obligations yet is because the order hasn’t been completed. So, if we go to orders, we can see that this is pending payment. Now, if you were using a payment processor, this would automatically go directly into completed as soon as the payment happens. But since we’re doing this manually, we have to manually go in, accept the payment, and set it as completed. So, let’s just assume that this customer paid us. We’re going to say completed and click update order. Now when we go to siren and we look at conversions, we’re going to see two obligations. Those two orders are set as complete and we have obligation 11 and 12 for transaction 8. If we click on transaction 8, we can say that see that the total obligations was $67.50. The transaction total was $90. And uh we have two obligations here. So, if we go over to obligations, we can see that Bradley Wellington got $45, which is 50% of the total value of the sale because of he’s on a royalty program. Uh, and then we also see that Steve Wy got 2250, which is his uh 25% or whatever it was for uh that minus the 10%. So, as you can see, Steve actually earned the commission instead of Bradley even though we use Bradley’s affiliate link. And the reason why is because the coupon code was associated with Steve.
